Loretta P is an energetic, resourceful, flexible and creative person in pursuit of creating learning opportunities, building connections and engaging with children and families. She builds authentic relationships with all children and uses their interests to base her imaginative activities to gain a better understanding of those she is working with. She provides safe and inclusive care for children. I have had the pleasure of being a team member with Loretta for Before and After School programs as well as building a creative and innovative Summer Camp for children of all abilities. For example, during our Summer Camp, she would plan weekly activities based on the children's interests and always included an outdoor activity alongside the activity to build deeper relationships, and knowledge for the children. Together to created an inclusive environment to provide fun and engaging exercises for the children in program. One specific exercise was going on adventurous walks weekly that aimed on learning more about the outdoors and the environment we are a part of. She would ask the children to find one item or scene along the walk that they want to know more about. One day a child had asked about the Nursery that we had walked passed, which led to an entire week of growing plants and vegetables, as well as learning what environments certain plants need in order to flourish. I highly recommend Loretta P, as she would be an asset to child development and use her play-based knowledge to engage the children she is a part of.
