Hello families! My name is Kat. I am a fun-loving Early Childhood Educator with 10 years experience working with children through lifeguarding, teaching swimming, nannying, and working in early learning centres. I am currently looking for a nannying position with a family whose ideas and lifestyle align with mine. I value diversity and inclusion, allowing the children in my care to ask questions and learn about other cultures, family structures, and ways of living. I enjoy spending time with children of all ages, helping them learn and play in a safe environment. I also have the education and experience needed to guide children through social and emotional struggles. Experience/Certifications: • 10 years experience teaching/caring for children of all ages, alone as well as in groups of 2-12 at a time • Early Childhood Education Diploma - Okanagan College • Infant/Toddler Post-Diploma Certificate - Okanagan College • Former Lifeguard Water Safety Instructor (swimming instructor, all levels and abilities, not currently certified but still able to teach any age/skill level) • First Aid with CPR-C (currently recertified through Red Cross) • Criminal Record Check availabile upon request • Vehicle/Driver's License - I have a Class 5 driver's license, however I do not currently drive a vehichle with the seat capacity for children (clean Driver's Abstract from ICBC available) • References available upon request Skills/Interests: • Active supervision and promoting everyday self-safety in all environments, especially around water • Infant/Toddler care and education - respectful/responsive/attentive caretaking, providing age-appropriate activies, outings and adventures • Teaching swimming skills through songs, games, and discovery • Effective and age-appropriate guidance in social and emotional dilemmas • Adventure (camping, exploring, travelling Canada in my van) • Sports/activities (swimming, rollerskating, paddleboarding, running, hiking, biking, basketball, soccer, and more) • Trying new things (I can easily adapt to learning about and participating any interest/hobby) • Cooking healthy, fun meals and snacks (experience with vegan, gluten-free, and sugar-free recipes) • Helping with schoolwork (I love to problem solve with children, and find methods of learning for those who struggle with the traditional education system) • Languages (excellent knowledge of the English language, 1 year university level French, 5 years high school level German) Preferred specifications: • I prefer to spend time in a cigarette-free and pet-free home. • My preferred ages to work with are infants and toddlers, and I have additional certifications for working with these ages.
