Nanny Job in North Vancouver, British Columbia

We are a family of 4 (Mom, Dad, 5.5 yo boy, and 3 yo boy) living next to the forest by Capilano Suspension bridge. We are looking for a nanny to work with us 31 hrs per week (M 12-5pm, T 12-5pm, W 12-5pm, Th 9am-5pm, Fr 9am-5pm). The boys are in kindergarten and preschool, and we need help with the hours they’re out of school, while we’re still working. Both parents are in and out of the house; we run a business from our home office. YOU are a highly experienced nanny who is knowledgeable about young children. You know how to handle a three year old that doesn’t want to nap. You know how to encourage a child when they are timid in a way that empowers them to achieve on their own. You know how to enforce rules with a smile. Better yet, you know how to recognize when bad behaviour is coming and avoid it altogether most of the time. You are someone who has great ideas for helping our family develop: We are looking for someone who will be part of our team, not just a babysitter. You have your own car and are an incredibly safe driver. We value kindness, love, friendship, and being in and respecting nature. You are welcome to take the boys on adventures! Our boys love to read, explore, scooter and play. We don’t watch television, spend time on devices, or play with computers with the kids. Our boys attend the Waldorf school and we are enjoying learning about, and experiencing this approach to child development. You are replacing a much loved nanny who is a big part of our lives but who is leaving us for further personal development. We have a weekly cleaner but you will do the children's laundry twice a week (no ironing) and keep the kids' rooms tidy (with their help!). We also expect the house to be in good shape at the end of the day, including wiping the table and counters after meals, emptying the dishwasher when needed, and doing our grocery shopping once a week. You will be relied on to make healthy, homemade food for lunch and snacks for the children.
