Nanny in Victoria, British Columbia

Hey my name is Simone. I am a nanny who is trustworthy and looking for work in Victoria. I look forward to speaking with you! I grew up in a small village in Switzerland. My parents were self-employed, running a bakery and a restaurant. Because our parents were working all day, my two sisters and I grew up to be independent at a young age. But we had a beautiful childhood, with lots of playing with the kids from the neighbourhood. After high school, I finished hotel management school in 2003 and worked in hotels in Asia and Europe for more than 10 years. Currently I am working as an Executive Assistant for Swiss based human resources company. It is not yet very common for Swiss families to hire full time nannies – otherwise I would have most probably chosen this career path earlier. But working at an office with regular business hours gives me the chance to spend time with family and friends. I often look after my cousin's two children (Joon, 4, Julyn 1) - playing with them, preparing and having meals with them, take them to bed and so on. And I spend a lot of time with my niece, born in January this year, supporting my sister in her new role as a mom. Living and working in Switzerland is a privilege, I am aware of that fact. But I feel it is time to try something new – and as I totally fell in love with Vancouver Island, I would love to live and work here. I love children. I am convinced it’s our (adults, not only parents) responsibility to create a surrounding where kids can grow up to be great, reliable and contributing human beings. It’s our responsibility to show them the world and help them to find their way. I would love to support a family in creating the above mentioned and be part of this journey.
