Nanny in London, Ontario

Hello! My name is Shona and I am currently perusing a business and Spanish degree at Western University, with hopes to go to Teacher's College afterwards. At this time, I am looking for a summer position in London ON between the months of May to September. I am British (with Canadian citizenship), however due to my father’s job I have had the pleasure of growing up in Bahrain, Dubai and India. It was in India where my experience in childcare began. I have experience in childcare in both private and professional settings. I babysat 2 girls (now ages 7 and 5) from 2012 to 2016 in Delhi 3 times a week for a few hours, however as they still live in India I am unable to do so now. I have been working with a charity that runs homes for underprivileged children in Delhi for the past 2 summers, working both directly with the kids themselves on excursions and activities; and with the staff on projects, such as conducting an internal audit. Looking after children and building strong relationships with them has become such a big part of my life over the past 5 years, and having the ability to make a positive impact on a child’s life is astronomical. More about my experience: Worked with 2 girls (currently ages 7 and 5) for the past 4 years, caring for them multiple times per week. Some responsibilities included: homework help, planning activities such as arts and crafts and baking, accompanying children on excursions and to birthday parties, daily park visits, bathing, dressing and doing educational activities (Kumon) Volunteered at a children's home for the past 2 summers. The charity has multiple homes for boys and girls ages 2 - 18. At the home, I played with the children and led park excursions. I was also in charge of organizing and leading weekly field trips to either a historic monument or an educational place of interest. I took the children (18 in total) swimming once a week and held swimming lessons for the younger kids.
