Hi! My name is Ximena Huizi, and I'm a 33 year old theatre artist living and working in downtown Toronto. I was Born and raised in Caracas Venezuela, where I worked as a baby sitter, camp counsellor and children's party facilitator from the age of 15, After graduating high school and finishing one semestre of University in literature, I spent a year in the USA as an Aupair. Working with children has always been a passion of mine (For a lot of the same reasons why I love theatre) I find I am drawn to collective/collaborative situations. In art like with children, I hope do work where I get to go in to situations where space is being shared, where relationships are being built and cared for and where challenges and questions are met with curiosity and kindness. I enjoy childcare because I want to do work where I get to build relationship with kids, to teach and to learn from them, to experience the way every day offers a new challenge and in turn a new reward, as they grow and change. And because I am moved by the notion of being able to become part of a small community by working as a role model.
