Nanny Job in Toronto, Ontario

Family of four needs a long-term EXPERIENCED housekeeper and cook. This is not a child care position. We live in a two-story detached home near Christie and St. Clair. Hours and salary: Monday-Friday 11-7; $20/hour for three-month trial period; $22/hour afterward All legal payroll requirements: UI, CPP, source deductions; Three weeks paid holidays: ten days at Christmas and ten days in the summer Duties include: Preparing after-school snacks for children (age 9 and 12) Preparing dinner for four people Baking and preparation of food in advance for freezer (soups, etc.) Keeping kitchen, refrigerator, pantries, closets and bathrooms organized and properly stocked with needed products Maintaining the shopping list: adding items when needed, etc. Tidying and surface cleaning of kitchen, family room, and bathrooms Polishing silverware Making beds Laundry and ironing Dealing with service personnel: window cleaners; furnace maintenance personnel; garden service people Grocery shopping (if you have a driver’s license) Assisting with preparation and clean-up for large dinners Heavy cleaning is done by another person once a week. Job requirements: At least five years’ experience as a housekeeper Fluent in English Legal to work Excellent organizational skills: keeping track of tasks to do; making lists; managing and prioritizing task list Care with household cleaning products and materials: we have different products for different surfaces, housewares, and clothing items. Excellent ironing skills Enjoy cooking and ability to follow recipes and learn new recipes Flexibility to stay later and to work weekend evenings occasionally (if parents are late from work; if there are many people for dinner) Licensed driver preferred Police background check (we can do this at our expense)
