This summer, I am offering an alternative to traditional child care--cooking classes in your home!! View my Website: http://....com/ for exciting updates! Unlike other classes which require transporting small children to busy, often intimidating cooking classes, parents will have the option of hosting cooking classes in their homes. Parents with children who have dietary restrictions or allergies, will be confident that these guidelines will be followed. Parents have the unique freedom of choosing the project, which is cooked in their home, and recipes can be adjusted for family size or taste. A session can be organized with two or three families so that children can enjoy an activity with their peers. During summer months, academic work often lapses: gifted children become bored and others become weak at key skills. Cooking is a fun way to integrate these skills and encourage children to have fun while learning. Cooking classes are small, which gives older children the opportunity to have scaffolded learning activities, using what they know to learn what they do not know. Children can also explore their own cultural heritage through cooking and explore different cultures in a friendly forum to encourage respect for all. Online blogs and activities will encourage follow up discussion, and build a spirit of culinary experimentation as well as giving older children considering a career in hospitality a chance to meet their future peers. I have worked in camps and with children in formal and informal settings for over 5 years. I have experience with special needs, and other specialties. Talk to me about making a special cooking afternoon or evening with your children. I have worked in private homes and in camping type of situations. I am comfortable teaching, tutoring and organizing homework and classes for your child or children. I am entering Culinary Arts at George Brown in September and I am great at cooking with children, and making learning about cooking fun. I also teach math, science and literature based on what we cook! Great idea for an afternoon or evening of alternative care. Cooking Sessions can be modified for larger groups of children for a unique, culinary themed Birthday Party. I also offer cooking classes to small groups of children. This is a great summer activity, especially for children who need extra help or enrichment in Math or English. Check out my website for more information: http://....com/
