The Church of St. Mary Magdalene is currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated part-time Nursery Associate to implement and supervise a Christian faith-based nursery program for children ages one to five. Alongside overseeing the nursery program at the church, the successful candidate will also assist in teaching older children in the Sunday School program at our second service. Key Attributes: • Passion for working with infants and young children • Education/training or experience in child/infant supervision, ECE is an asset • Exceptional communication skills and teaching skills • Knowledge of Christian education • Ability to manage volunteers and work as a team member • Good organizational and time management skills • Dependable and trustworthy • Valid First Aid/CPR Certificate • Ability to work Sundays Position Responsibilities: • Develop, plan and implement a weekly nursery program in consultation with the Associate Priest for Children and Youth • Assist with teaching Sunday school to older children at our later service • Provide appropriate supervision of children during church services and church events as required. • Communicate and liaise with volunteers, parents, wardens and incumbent • Ensure that toys and nursery supplies are clean, safe and appropriate and that the nursery is a safe and clean environment for children, visitors and families of the parish • Develop protocols and procedures in consultation with the Associate Priest for Children and Youth. • Communicate and liaise with ministers, wardens and parents Additional Information: Successful candidates will be required to undergo a Police Reference Check and participate in the Responsible Ministry Screening program. Salary: $15.00 per hour Job status: Part-time, 4-5 hours/week, 4 hours on Sundays 9am-1pm. Additional hours may be given during parish events and liturgical feast days.
