We are looking for a fun, energetic individual with an interest or experience in early childhood education to care for and engage our 4 year old daughter after school. We live downtown, close to the TTC bus and subway. Our daughter attends the Jackman Institute of Child Studies, which is part of OISE at the University of Toronto campus. We are looking for a caregiver to pick her up from school at 3pm, and accompany her to an activity or spend time with her at home until 630pm. Realizing that a 5 day per week commitment may not be feasible (especially for students), we are open to candidates who are able to provide care 3 to 4 afternoons per week, and are flexible on which days of the week. Duties and responsibilities include: Providing a safe and supervised environment Encouraging our daughters emotional, intellectual, and physical development Planning and carrying out educational activities to support her kindergarten development Accompanying our daughter to pre-arranged activities (e.g., swimming lessons, ballet, etc.) Preparing our daughter's meals as required Light housekeeping (e.g., dishes, tidying, sweeping) as required Our familys strategies for positive child care and guidance include: Lots of friendliness, encouragement, and patience Stimulation, learning, and exploring in a structured environment Dignity and respect for freedom with boundaries Independence and encouragement to self-learn and develop confidence Modeling and reinforcing manners, politeness, consideration for others, and hard work Gratefulness and giving thanks, appreciation for the life we have Cleanliness We look forward to hearing from you!
