Lived in South America for a total of 12 years (Venezuela and Peru). Graduated from Lower Canada College, and I am currently doing my undergrad at St. Francis Xavier. Skills: Trilingual (Spanish, English, French) Responsible Patient Great leadership skills Strong social skills Great with technology and a quick learner Volleyball player and Team Captain all through grade school Have been very involved in volunteering: CIBC Breast Cancer Foundation (Run for the Cure); Montreal, Qc - 2011 Helped set up tables, handing out water to the runners, and helped keep the spirit up by having a spirit crew. At the end of the day, we were also the clean up crew. Hampstead Community Centre; Montreal, Qc - 2011 Volunteered in the haunted house for halloween where we set up props and dressed in scary outfits to set a creepy and cinematic atmosphere where kids and families can enjoy some thrill. Friendship Circle; Montreal, Qc - 2009-2014 Started volunteering with them in 2009 where I was part of their M.A.D. program along with a few other girls from Miss Edgars and Miss Cramps School - since then, felt deeply attached to working with them up until 2014. My volunteering consisted in working with kids, teens and adults with special needs at least once a week participating in activities such as cooking, dancing and doing arts and crafts with them. Generations Foundation; Montreal, Qc - 2012 In grade 10, being one of the students at Lower Canada College we participated in YPI which stands for Youth and Philanthropy Initiative where the goal is to team together and prepare a bilingual presentation ( english and french) as to why our charity deserves to get a grand donation of cash. We explored the social needs of a local grassroots - in this case we chose Generation Foundation and we learned about them through hands-on experience and at the end of the day understood some of the challenges faced by others in the community. We packed pencil cases with pencils, pens, erasers, and sharpeners all day along with a few backpacks that were also going to be given to them with binders and notebooks. Trevor William Foundation; Montreal, Qc - 2012 After my school hours, I would help out with the Trevor William Foundation where they held a tutoring program after school at Roslyn Elementary School. The kids I tutored where between the grades 1-6, where we helped them with math and their language assignments. Counsellor in training (CIT) at Brome Lake Club; Knowlton, Qc - 2012 Worked with toddlers from Monday to Friday, created daily schedules with activities to keep them busy such as doing arts and crafts, taking them to their group lessons of swimming, tennis and sailing and lastly recording who picks them up at the end of the day and evaluating every kids performance and interactions and sharing it with their parents. Lower Canada College; Montreal, Qc - 2013 For the month of November I volunteered in the school community by selling gloves that supported Movember. During the hockey games at our school , during halftime I would walk around selling these gloves to raise money and at the end of the day all the money was collected and put into our LCC Movember Donations.
