More About this Childcare Job and the Family I'm a single working mom looking for a responsible sitter for 2 school aged children ages 9 and 11. We live in Onoway. I require someone urgently for the last week of school, June 26 to 30th, as well a couple of shifts here n there during summer. I definitely require someone for the new school year beginning September, 2017. I work a rotating shift work schedule, 4 days off every 4 working shifts, which includes overnights, some weekends and some holidays. These would be discussed in length with you with a schedule provided for the year. I would prefer the individual to stay with us on a part time live-in basis for ease of maintaining my work schedule. Its a total of 14 to 16 shifts a month, and 14 to 14 full days off a month, hours worked by applicant do equal full time (approximately 130 hours monthly) which are based on time spent with the children. I do offer a separate locked bedroom and bathroom, all amenities, all food. We live directly in town, pick up/drop off to some after school activities throughout the week is required, including 1 hour of gymnastics 1 day a week in Spruce Grove for my daughter. This can be discussed in more detail during the interview. Basic Duties include: - Available to wake kids for school, 7am - help preparing breakfast, taking kids to school for 8:30 am with a prepared nutritious lunch - very cold days pick up for 3:15 pm and offering a nutritious snack after school (Kids usually walk home) - preparing dinner during my working shifts...I help with making some meals and some are pre made frozen - taking kids to/from after school activities, majority are local - keeping kids stay entertained (crafting, board games, reading books, outside active play, etc.) - reminding kids of homework, guiding with anything difficult, sometimes morning verbal spelling quizzes - follow an easily outlined schedule for the kids, maintained by me, which may include at times appointments - helping them maintain the bedtime routine, reminders mostly. My daughter enjoys reading out loud to you - light housekeeping including daily dishes, sweeping of kitchen/dining area, and rarely but at times picking up basic grocery items when needed (bread, milk, water) - reminding kids of daily home chores Driver's license is required, a vehicle would be an asset. First Aid/ CPR training would be an asset, but not necessary. Police check required. Wages to be discussed.
