My daughter and I frequently enjoy walks to the park or library, join our local playgroups, or visit indoor play spaces, splash parks and the kiddie pool. When I have free time, I like to donate it to a good cause. I have planted tree’s at by The Lake Park, shaved my head for the Short Cut to the Cure world record charity drive, the Big Bike Ride for The Heart and Stroke Foundation and was head of the decorating committee for the Fire Department charity gala. I have always been a very empathetic and kind person by nature, I think that is reflected in my career choices in my employment history. I have cared for the ill, elderly and disabled, in both a long-term care facility and charity run group homes. But my fondest memories were of the Moms and Tots group home for pregnant and parenting teens. My work there included providing childcare during school hours for newborns, infants and toddlers. And as the mothers were little more than children themselves, we were also charged with being their full time caregivers and parenting mentors.
