Should your nanny weed the garden?

June 14, 2013

Working as a nanny isn't a typical job...the hours aren't always 9 to 5, and there are a lot of things that fall under your job description.

Generally, nannies should be expected to do any gardening, yard work, or weeding. That isn't a typical duty, and any time they spend doing this is time spent away from your child or children. However, if your nanny has expressly stated that she enjoys weeding occasionally and has offered to do it, then allow her to do so. Just make sure it doesn't take her attention away from her main duty - caring for your child. Even then, don't expect her to do it all!

What atypical duties has your nanny done for you?
