Nanny Job in Vancouver, British Columbia

*****Seeking warm, organized, flexible nanny for 1 year old and 7 year old - Feb or March start(flexible)***** We’re a family of 4 living in a house with backyard in Strathcona. We’re looking for a nanny primarily for the baby while older child is in school. Care for both kids required when older child not in school. One year minimum commitment. Employment can be ongoing. Details below. *Location: - Strathcona, Vancouver. Close to McLean park and Strathcona community centre. *Kids/ages: - Two siblings - baby H turns 1 year old in March. She is silly and sensitive. Older child is 6 1/2, grade 1 at neighbourhood school. He is active, creative, sensitive and hilarious. Both kids need to get outside rain or shine everyday. *Hours offered: - Wed, Thurs, Fri 8-4pm. Mainly care for baby, school pickup often required at 3pm. - Saturday 10-4.( time can be flexible)This will look different each week and requires flexibility. Some weeks will be taking older child out on solo adventure. Sometimes just baby or both kids. Parents will be home on Saturdays doing home projects, errands. Each Saturday will vary. *Education/experience/training required: - experience caring for a 1 year old and school age child at the same time. - 2 childcare plus one personal reference is required. -knowledge of neurodiversity and experience working with kids with ADHD -familiar with Janet Lansbury/ gentle parenting -ECE major bonus *Certifications: - CPR, first aid, covid vaccinated, criminal record check - All required - Valid Visa required *Pay range: - $26-32 per hour ( depending on experience and credentials) - paid as employee with usual deductions etc. *Brief description of responsibilities : - Feed, dress baby for the day. Pack diaper bag/snacks - Walk in stroller to park, library, story time, playgroup etc. - Facilitate nap ( usually stroller) - Prepare simple snacks for baby- cutting fruit, heating soup - Tidy baby mess- toy clean up, sweep floor after meal, wipe down high chair, put baby dishes in dishwasher. - Pick up older child from school between 3-4 pm. Play at school/ McLean park. - Saturdays: duties vary each week. Usually taking one child out to science world, swimming, park while parents can do home projects, spend one on one time with other child. Additional info: * dad works at studio in neighbourhood, mom will be in and out of house but will stay out of the way. * Baby is not sleep trained and will need support napping either in carrier/ stroller or in arms before transferring. If you feel strongly about sleep training/ naps in cribs etc this is probably not a good fit for you. * No house cleaning required beyond tidying after baby (sweeping after meals, toy pickup,packing baby dishes in dishwasher, dirty clothes from day in hamper, hanging rain gear up to dry) Minimal food prep for baby: chopping fruit, heating soup, packing up food in fridge in lunchbox for outing. ***Please email [email protected] if interested with the following 1/ resume 2/ what you’ve been up to this past year personally and professionally 3/ most challenging part of working with kids FB messages will not be answered.
