Nanny Job in Sechelt, British Columbia

Hello, my name is Alanna. We are looking for full-time care for our four year old daughter starting in mid-May. She is very vocal and adventurous and will be in pre-school part-time. We live in a small town that is very quiet in the winter, and very busy in the summer. We own and operate a seasonal business (the Skookumchuck Bakery & Cafe) that is steps from our home. It keeps us very busy in the summer months. We are looking for someone who is open to adventure and being in the outdoors as we live in the heart of the rainforest. We cook most of our meals at home and have a very food focused family. We are hoping to expand our garden and build a greenhouse this spring. Our town is small, but has a big heart. There are some local activities with many more a short 25minute drive away, and Sechelt, the main centre is 50 minutes away. Ideally we are looking for someone who is comfortable with a simple life, in a busy household. I travel for work in my own planning and design consulting practice and have the potential to be away for up to two weeks at a time, while my husband, Trevor works on properties nearby during the winter, as well as taking care of our home and 12 acres. We have a lot going on in our little piece of paradise. In terms of childcare, we are looking for someone attentive, yet open to allowing our children to learn by doing. We don't ascribe to a particular philosophy, but believe in experiential learning, playing outside, reading, swimming and being in the world. In addition to childcare, we also require some light household duties, cooking, cleaning and meal-prep.
