Nanny Job in Toronto, Ontario

Dear Prospective Nanny: Your work hours will begin at 8:15am, Monday to Friday. Mom leaves home at 8:00am and gets home at 3:00pm. Dad leaves home at approximately 8:30am and gets home later in the evening. We are a family of three (four including our cat), living on the waterfront close to Union Station in downtown Toronto. Your main task will be caring for our toddler. This includes dressing and changing her; playing and singing with her; reading to her; comforting her when she’s sad; going on outings with her; preparing and offering her breakfast, lunch and snacks; and facilitating her afternoon nap. Light housework such as emptying the garbage, dishes, laundry and meal prep will also be required. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys spending time with our daughter, and who treats young children with understanding and respect. Our building has a playroom for kids and our neighbourhood includes numerous parks, drop-in centers and other activities perfect for toddlers. We are looking for someone who is happy exploring the things to do outside with our daughter, as well as finding entertaining things to do with a young child indoors. You should be comfortable helping our daughter find things to do without using screens (tv, phone, etc,). This will be be the first time our daughter has ever been cared for by someone other than mom or dad. She needs a gentle, loving and playful caregiver with whom she is able to bond. We would like you to be a part of her life for at least a one year minimum. First aid, CPR, criminal record check and references required. Competitive salary and paid vacation offered.
