Summer is here! Your kids have restless, and you are back to work, in the office, and short of summer camp and play based fun for your kids. Do you need help? Do your kids need some summer tutoring? Do they need someone who can drive them to and fro? Do you need someone who can take them off your hands while you are on zoom, at work, or out and about? I have: 20 years classroom teaching experience Experience as a nanny and daycare worker Extensive experience with children aged 0-14, and children with challenges A drivers liscence and my own car Lots of energy  My own reliable car References No kids of my own (this is not a dayhome scenario) Certification in CPR and first aid. An up-to-date police clearance. I love: Crafts and activities (I have supplies too!) Music Dancing Being outside Playing outside Finding adventure Keeping busy off of screens I can (and will): Prepare meals Clean up after your kids Do laundry Drive Come to your place anytime (overnight is fine) Do errands PM me. Rates negotiable. Located in Acadia. ____ My first language is English. I speak and instruct some French and Spanish as well. I tutor in literacy, math, reading, and other subject areas. I have extensive experience supporting children with a variety of special needs, including those children challenged with speech and language delays, ADHD (hyperactive types, and non hyperactive types), learning disabilities, cognitive disabilities, and medical disabilities. I have also tutored in study skills as children develop through school, mentoring and guiding organization and executive function to supplement school success. I am happy to provide children with as little or as much 'learning' and 'learning through play' as you like, in the home, alongside duties related to child care, food prep, and house keeping. As a teacher, I have lots of materials with which to extend your children's thinking. Programming of this sort would, of course, alter the rate of pay I would expect. I am happy to provide children with activities, and outings, as well as support in their comings and goings to lessons and playdates. I love being outside, no matter what the weather. With that in mind, some agreement would have to be made as to expectations for reimbursement of those costs accrued in the consumption of gas, and the increase of insurance and maintenance costs related to this. A kilometre allotment for transportation is typical, and I am happy to provide supportive paperwork to this detail, as per our agreement. As well, any costs accrued for fees, meals, and treats at activities would be required as an agreed upon provision. I love to play with kids, and I can provide structured challenges through play, as requested. Together we can make crafts, do projects, bake, cook, try science experiments, build, and create in the way of a developing engineer. I can help children build their skills physically, as we play indoors and outdoors. We can go on adventures, no matter what the weather. I can also help facilitate the growth of your child's character and responsibility by supporting the child to do chores and tasks at home. I can help children learn to use technology as a tool, and I always try to reduce children's relationship with technology as a passive device. With me, your kids won't be passing the time on their ipad or gaming system. I will support your methods of positive personal development, as instructed. I encourage kids to be polite, and kind, and speak to their honest feelings. As a collaborator in your child's personal growth, I will be in constant communication with you. I am available to work days, evenings and weekends throughout the summer. I currently live in Acadia (Calgary). I would be happy to take on a live out position. I am also available late nights, overnights, or if you are heading out of town for whatever reason.
