Nanny Job in Barrie, Ontario

My husband and I are looking for a full time live-out nanny for our 12 month old daughter once I return to work in June. Part-time duties would begin in May to develop new relationships and familiarity with our little one. Work would be full-time in June, then petering off a bit over the summer as I am off and then full-time again in September. I am an elementary school teacher and my school is only a 10 minute drive away in the South East end of Barrie (Yonge and Mapleview area). The exact hours are tbd and negotiable with the right caregiver (earliest being 7-8 am until 4:30-5:30pm). About us: We are a super fun family that loves to have a good time. We enjoy travel and adventure, eating well and getting out to exercise amidst our busy schedules ! We consider ourselves to be progressive, sociable and open-minded people. Our home is full of learning, music, community and laughter. Our daughter is a joy to take care of and spend time with; silly, sweet and curious about everything. She has been exclusively breast fed and is now beginning solids. We are hard-working and loving parents and we have enjoyed every minute of this first year with her. It is our hope that we can find someone who has a similar nurturing and discipline styles and would hopefully become an important part of our family's life. Our parenting/caregiver philosophies have followed the attachment parenting style; she sleeps very well in her crib (though we are still working on getting her to fall asleep independently), she is breast feed on demand and in between wake windows - however I have been pumping since the beginning for flexibility and her nursing needs will likely change as we grow closer to the start date. We like to baby wear and are beginning to use a baby-led weaning approach to feeding. In terms of discipline, we use respectful language and a collaborative approach that focuses on intentions and mindfulness. We believe in giving children space to explore the world, while maintaining safety. That being said, we expect you to get creative and to take advantage of the various opportunities across the city for socializing, learning and exploring. She loves outdoor time and socializing with other kids, so the ability to bring her to parks, drop-ins, swimming pool etc is a necessity. Driver's license, first aid and cpr are vital. Both of our jobs are very demanding and extend beyond the workplace. As such, if time permits (during a nap etc) small clean ups would be part of the job description, nothing major.
