Hello! We are a very busy family in need of some childcare. See below for more detailed description of the jobs and schedules. We are willing to take someone on part time or full time, so please read through carefully to see if you are a good fit. This is an amazing opportunity for the right person! You Should Be: -responsible -able to be firm with the kids (read below) -motivated - this is a great opportunity for the right person - good pay, and great benefits (will explain more during our interview) -able to get here yourself, or be closeby, perhaps one bus away only. We are very central in town. Main duties would include: -afternoon and weekend routines with the boys (on certain fixed days only) -driving kids to and from school, and hockey practice (with our SUV, you just need a licence) -some light housekeeping, meal prep -morning routine (if you can, not necessary) Here's more detailed descriptions of the jobs and schedules. 1. Afternoon and Weekend Routine: Care for the boys. We have two boys, aged 7 and 9. The boys are very well behaved, but they behave best when they are disciplined and kept active. In the afternoons and weekends you would be doing lots of the kids stuff with them. Most importantly, homework, outside activity (we have an amazing yard right on the water), reading with them, giving them meals or snacks, and making sure their chores are done (they do the chores, you supervise). We generally want someone who understands that these kids need firm discipline and to keep them active. We also need someone to take the kids to their hockey and activities. If you are a hockey practice, keeping the 2nd boy busy with books or anything else is a great idea. Even if you are doing laps around the hockey arena. Also, on weekends that we have the kids (every 2nd weekend), you can take them swimming, movies, or other various activities. There would be about 4-6 hours each day on the weekends that we have the kids. 2. Baby care/Light Housekeeping. Our little baby is 3 months old. When you aren’t keeping the boys busy, we need someone good with babies too. Changing diapers, holding her, playing with her as she gets older. She is so cute, you will absolutely love her. 3. Helping out in the house/Picking up Groceries . If you aren’t with the boys keeping them busy, then we also need someone to help with some light housekeeping. Make sure kitchen is tidy, kids bedrooms. We do have a house cleaner, so you would not be doing very much here. 4. Babysitting when we go out/need a break - you will become our main babysitter when we go out. We will give you exact dates, no surprises. 5. Possible Morning Routine (only on certain days, if you can): Organize breakfast and lunch for school age children, drive the kids to school, then return to the house. Then mind for and care for the baby while dad is working, mom getting some sleep. Light housekeeping. BENEFITS OF THIS JOB: Better than average pay. We realise we are asking for a lot here. Someone who can fit our schedule and also be super responsible and able to drive. But also someone who is smart, and can keep our boys busy, disciplined, and well behaved. 2. We live on an amazing property. We have a house very central in town, on the water. You can enjoy our yard and dock as much as you like, with the kids, or even on your own time. It’s a great place to be! This is NOT a live in position though. 3. We are located very central in town, so not far from anywhere really. THE SCHEDULE - we are flexible with the weekend schedule and morning routines, but cannot be flexible with the afternoon routine. We need someone for our afternoon routine. All of the times below include your driving times. Afternoon routine (on every Wednesday and Thursday, and every other Friday) - 2:00 p.m. to 6:30 or 7pm Weekend routine - 1 early morning on every 2nd weekend. The rest of the weekend schedule can be very flexible depending on your needs and ours. Morning routine - Thursdays, Fridays, Mondays, possibly other days too if you can - 7:30 am to 12pm. Again, we are flexible when you can or can’t do the morning routine. If you can take one or two mornings, great.
