Nanny in Coquitlam
The person who will look after your children for many hours each day must be someone special. Your children need someone who genuinely cares about them, is capable of meeting their emotional, intellectual and physical needs, can help them explore their interests and learn life skills and acceptable behaviours, and can work effectively with you as a team to provide the best possible care. If you choose to hire me as their caregiver, I promise to be all those things and more for you and your children. It was in middle school that I first began working with children. I babysat toddlers on a fairly regular basis, and an infant on occasion. Near the end of high school, I started learning martial arts. I soon became a member of the leadership team, helping both children and adults learn techniques and supervising children to keep them safe. Seven years later, I still help others learn martial arts, but now as a black belt. Meanwhile, with a love of wildlife and a desire to protect the environment, I went to university to study environmental science. In my second year of university, I learned of an organization called Lets Talk Science. I began volunteering with them, leading fun, educational demonstrations and activities for grade school students, mainly those in elementary school. The absolute excitement they exuded over a balloon filling with gas from dry ice or their hand-made kaleidoscopes reflecting a myriad of colours was so rewarding. This year, I also began educating people of all ages about nature at the Vancouver Aquarium and with the City of Surrey. Every time I volunteer, I feel glad to have helped children have fun, explore, and engage in hands-on learning. Because of that, I always have fun, too. In addition to helping children learn martial arts and become excited about science and nature, in 2012 I began helping students succeed academically as a tutor. I have helped people from grade 2 to university learn and improve their grades in English, math and science. My experience, particularly with Lets Talk Science, inspired me to unite my two biggest passions: children and the environment. In the future, I plan to start a business that will connect children with nature through exciting workshops and hands-on activities. Until then, I would like to help children grow cognitively, physically and emotionally, playing a role in their everyday successes and helping to build their futures. With this goal in mind, I have recently completed 20 hours of childcare training. I also have certifications in food safety and first aid. Furthermore, I have many interests I can share with your children. I would love to help them succeed. If it sounds like I may be a good match for your family, I would love to hear from you. Thank you for considering me for this important role. I look forward to meeting you and your children.
