Nanny in Nanaimo, British Columbia

Hello, I am planning to be living in Nanaimo, BC for about 3 months (from the beginning of September to mid-December). I would already have a part-time job caring for kids before and after school for one family. However, I would be available during the day from about 9am to 3pm (while the kids are at school) and was hoping to find an additional part-time job during the day. I have quite a bit of experience caring for children (I have been a nanny for one family for over 4 years now) and enjoy doing crafts, going for walks or to the park, and reading stories with kids. I am good at housekeeping (dishes, laundry, mopping floors, etc.) and can also run errands. Also, I would make a great companion for a fairly independent elderly person. I do not have the experience or the qualifications to care for elderly people who are more dependent (ie. I cannot administer medication and have no experience giving baths), but would gladly do puzzles, gardening, housekeeping, go for walks, or other activities with/for them. I would be willing to accompany them to appointments as well (though I would not have my own transportation). I am gentle, patient, and enjoy listening to what others have to say (especially listening to the elderly). The only concerns I have are that I will not have my own vehicle as transportation while I am in Nanaimo, but will have to rely on using the bus or a bike to get around. Secondly, I may need to be able to leave on short notice - if one of the kids from the family I would be caring for become sick at school and I have to go pick them up... it shouldn't happen often, if at all - they are all healthy kids, but wanted to mention it. If these concerns are not a problem for you, then great! I have had CPR & First Aid training and completed Police clearances in the past. My CPR and First Aid certificates have expired (I believe within the past year), but if you require up-to-date CPR and First Aid and a Police clearance, I am willing to acquire those upon being hired.
