Nanny in Grimsby, Ontario

Hi! I'm Tess. I grew up in southern Ontario (Niagara/TO) and started nannying in high school, providing summer care for a family of 3 school age children. This provided me with the experience to work for the YMCA of Niagara West, from their nursery service, after school programs, and day camps - eventually becoming day camp site supervisor during my last year with the Y. I studied History and Political Science (French Immersion) at the University of Ottawa donc je parle français aussi! In Ottawa I nannied for two families, respectively 1 infant (mother's helper) and a family of 3 children. I moved to Vancouver (Commercial Drive) in 2019 and nannied for a family of 2 boys (4 & 7) and we loved maxing our library cards, building forts in the park with friends, riding our bikes, and riding the Skytrain to Science World with our yearly pass. I took a break from nannying during the covid pandemic quarantine, and resumed my work caring FT for twin toddlers, from November 2021 until they started preschool in September 2022. Most recently, I cared for 1 infant and managed a busy household for two doctors, including housework, as well as dinner and work lunch prep. I've since moved back home to Grimsby ON and am looking for a new nanny family. My Location: Grimsby, ON. My Services: I'm fluent in French as a French Immersion student since elementary school and am more than happy to speak French with your children. I also can teach piano and guitar lessons (2 yrs experience teaching and Royal Conservatory Grade 8 certification). I'm comfortable offering health conscious/allergy friendly food preparation and am familiar with dietary needs (FODMAPS, celiacs, etc). I have experience working with atypical scheduling needs such as overnight childcare as well as early mornings. What I'm Looking For: I've always stayed with nanny families long-term (and truly felt like an extension of their family!) I'm looking for a family that shares similar values in regards to the autonomy of children, including respect, integrity, care, learning through play, and encouraging curiosity. Infant or pre-school age preferred. CRC-VS/First Aid: I renewed my emergency childcare FA/CPR in June 2023, and have a copy of CRC-VS through the Vancouver PD.
