Program Operator/Early Childhood Educator 2 for After School Program Child Matters Incorporated, Part-time (20 hrs/week) Rate of pay $17.31 plus 4% vacation pay ($18/hour total,) PLUS provincial top-up, up to $5/hour. Child Matters Incorporated is requesting applications from qualified candidates for an after school care program in January 2018. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Support the Program in carrying out activities that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children in a safe environment. This may include, but not be limited to: Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts; Help prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for snacks and activities; Supervise children during outdoor play; Maintain a safe and healthy environment for children and create a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere; Assist with record keeping; Maintain confidentially at all times; Be respectful and polite when interacting with team members and parents. WORK CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES: Repetitive tasks; Noisy; Physically demanding; Attention to detail; Combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Candidates will need to be certified with the Association of Early Childhood Educators Newfoundland and Labrador (AECENL) as an ECE 2 or higher for school age children. While not mandatory, it would be an asset if the candidate had a vehicle and was in possession of a valid drivers licence. First Aid certificate, Criminal Records check, Immunization records must be current and provided at the start of employment.
