Nanny in Montreal, Quebec

Hello! I recently had to say goodbye to the family I cared for in Montreal as they packed up and moved to France, so I am looking to get settled in with a respectful, loving and warm new family. I've been living in Montreal for a year now after living in Toronto, where I had a career in acting, theatre and other performing arts. Working in childcare has always been my main source of additional income, with over a decade of experience in childcare. Starting in the fall, I will be attending school for Massage Therapy and will be attending class 3 days a week from 9am-5pm. I am looking to start in August, and diminish my hours once school starts in the fall. Ever since I was a young teenager, babysitting and childcare has been something I've found a lot of joy and passion for. I have extensive experience from daycare groups to infants, from school aged children to toddlers. As an entertainer and actor, children and babies have always gravitated towards me. I have a lot of energy to offer and a goofy sense of humour, which makes getting along with kids very easy for me. I love teaching and playing, but most of all, I love what babies and children teach me. Their energy and creativity is a joy to be around which makes this job so fulfilling for me. Now, a little bit about my "style"... I love activities, creative play, getting the HECK out of the house, and activity-based learning. Of course, first and foremost your child's safety is my priority, and safety is something I have great instincts around, but I do believe in getting a little dirty and allowing a sense of agency and freedom in babies and children. I don't believe in micro managing their time, and I always let them lead. I tend to structure my days with a strong plan, but I'm always ready to throw the plan out the window and go with the flow and respect the immediate needs of the child. If I've learned anything in my 10 years of experience, it's that you can't count on anything going as planned, and you can't except children to have the same needs and interests every day. Patience, flexibility and anticipating the needs of the child/baby are what I believe is required to have a smooth day for everyone. I would describe myself first and foremost as responsible and professional, but beyond that I am playful, easy going, patient and as goofy as they come. I have a lot to offer as a childcare provider with my extensive experience in this field, my career in the arts and by extension, my capacity for creativity, and most of all, a passion for the development of children and babies. Oh and I should mention I'm also an excellent cook if that's something you're looking for! If I sound like your cup of tea, here is what I'm looking for from YOU: -Ideally 30-40 hours per week from August-October -25 hours or less starting at the beginning of October -some mutual flexibility to work around my part time school schedule and creative projects I have my Vulnerable Sector Screening (police check) and my CPR/First Aid. My rate is flexible and slides depending on the job (how many children, the duties of the job, how many hours I'm guaranteed etc). I like to chat with the family and come to a rate we all feel comfortable with.
