Nanny Job in Toronto, Ontario

About Our Boy: We're looking for a nanny to look after our son, who will be 7 months old at the end of February. He's a lovely, happy baby, who enjoys music and books, and independent playtime. He loves the outdoors and enjoys outings in the neighbourhood (library, song groups etc.). As he gets older, we have been giving him as much active, creative playtime as we can (music, reading, floor time, etc.). About Us: Dad works full-time. Mom is currently on parent leave and needs a couple of afternoons a week to run errands/go to appointments/do a bit of work. Mom goes back to work in August 2018. About the Job: This is a part-time live-out position with an hourly rate in the midtown Toronto area. We are looking for someone to spend time with our son for a few hours per week (flexible). Sometimes mom will be home and sometimes she will be out. When mom is home, your responsibilities will focus on light household chores for the baby (washing bottles, laundry, food prep. etc.) and playing with the baby if mom needs to do a bit of work. When mom is out, your responsibilities will be focused on caring for our baby (feeding him, playing with him, putting him down to nap, checking on him while he naps etc.) Our son's diet is currently still primarily formula, but we are introducing solids through baby-led spoon feeding, and would like someone who will continue this approach. We try to avoid any screen time (no use of TV, computer, iPad, etc.), and refrain from texting/checking social media on our phones when we are around our baby. We are looking for a non-smoker. About You: You are compassionate and enjoy caring for babies, and planning and organizing creative activities in the house and outings in the neighbourhood. You have your infant/child CPR certification and have ideally completed an ECE course or have similar experience. You are looking for part time work with the potential of converting to full time when mom goes back to work. If you think you would be the perfect nanny for us, please get in touch!
