Nanny Job in Winchester, Ontario

Hi! We are a loving and tight-knit family of six looking for a live-out nanny/housekeeper in the rural area between Winchester and Vernon, for approximately three days per week (could be more in the future). We have four kids ranging in age from 13 months to 8 years old. Your primary responsibility would be childcare. The older two are in school, and the younger two (13 months and almost 3 years old) are at home full-time. In school months, you would see the oldest child off on the bus in the morning (right in our driveway) and watch for her return at the end of the day. Our second oldest attends a preschool which we drive him to. (In the Summer, all of the kids will be home, aside from a two week camp for the big kids and some family vacation time.) If one of the older kids is under the weather on a school day, we would need you to supervise a couch day for that child. Basically, we will need you to step up to whatever is needed in the child care department! We are looking for someone energetic and creative, who can supervise crafts, tea parties, snacks and meals, long walks outside (we have an awesome double stroller), time on our play structure or looking at our farm animals (no animal chores required and no pets inside), or playing in the garden, and reading lots and lots of books!! Some days when you are here, Mom will be working in our home office. Other days, she will be at work. You will also be responsible for housekeeping (cleaning is already hired out), including loading and unloading the dishwasher, keeping counters clear, vegetable chopping/meal prep tasks, sweeping, making/changing beds, folding clean laundry and putting it away in drawers, and general tidying. We will appreciate initiative – if you see something that needs doing, you’ll take care of it! If things are quiet (babies are napping) and the work is caught up, you might decide to tackle a drawer or a closet. When you see our home, and how hard we work to keep it clutter-free, organized, and welcoming, you’ll see what we mean! The approximate hours would be 7:30/8 AM to 4:30/4:45 PM. Requirements: We require a non-smoker with a reliable vehicle to get here, a positive, energetic approach, and CPR/first aid training. We need someone with an abundance of patience, and plenty of experience with babies, toddlers, and young children. We hope to hear from interested nannies soon! :)
