Nanny Job in Toronto, Ontario

We are a young family located in Toronto’s Riverdale neighbourhood (Broadview & Gerrard) seeking a full time nanny to care for our son (almost 5 years old) and daughter (2 years old). Both children will be in school / preschool full time at Withrow school. Hours would be approximately 40 per week. We can be flexible with timing, and would expect that at least 2 shifts per week would end at 8 pm. While the children are in school, we would expect housekeeping duties (tidying, laundry, cleaning and cooking), grocery shopping if needed, and household management tasks (is it recycling or garbage day? does a plumber need to come in? time to switch to the kids’ winter wardrobes?) At 5 pm, you would pick up the children from their school/daycare. In September the children will both be attending Withrow Avenue Junior Public School, which is a 15 minute walk from our house – and return home for play, activities, dinner, bath, and bed (for our 2 year old daughter). One of Mom and/or Dad will generally be present in the home from dinnertime onward. We are seeking a candidate with significant full time experience caring for young children. Our son has been diagnosed on the autism spectrum, so we have a strong preference for candidates whose experience includes working with children with special needs. Valid drivers license is required. The role would also include escorting our son to and from regular weekly appointments in the neighbourhood, which will require the use of a car. If necessary, a vehicle can be provided.
