Nanny in Kelowna

My name is Quinn Sadlowski and I am currently a student at the University of Victoria studying Education. I am seeking part time summer employment in my hometown of Kelowna British Columbia. I have always had a passion for working with children. I have immersed myself in many experiences and opportunities in order to gain as much knowledge and understanding of working with kids as I can. I have worked with children of many ages and circumstances. By doing so. I have discovered a passion to help and teach children, while creating positive life experiences and memories. I think it is very important for children to have role models who inspire them at a young age and for them to associate strong memories and lessons learned to their early years. My work experience includes, working as a childrens dance instructor, tennis, and soccer coach, as well as a summer day-camp leader for children ages 3-12 at Kelownas Parkinson Recreation Centre. I have also worked as the head Le Petite tennis instructor for children ages 3-5 at Kelownas Mission Tennis Club. I began babysitting at the age of 12 and have babysat for children ranging in age from 6 months to 12 years. As a respite worker, I have worked with children with disabilities including an 8 year old visually impaired girl as well as an 8 year old with autism. My volunteer experiences involving children include volunteering at the City of Kelownas Family Fun Day for numerous years, volunteering in a Kindergarten classroom as part of a work experience elective for one year as well as choreographing a Kindergarten Christmas concert and attending weekly practices for the following two years. I have also volunteered at my previous childhood dance studio Kelowna Dance and Performing Arts, working backstage with the children. I have volunteered for many organizations not involving children including, Relay for Life, The Salvation Army, The Canadian Cancer Society, Kelownas Stuff a Bus, and The BC Summer Games. During my grade twelve year of high school I performed many leadership roles as a member of grad council, leadership excellence and social justice committees. All of these work and volunteer experiences have taught me many skills I use while interacting with children. I have learned to be patient with children. I understand the challenge of working with children of differing capacities and circumstances. I understand that not all children think, learn or should be expected to act alike. I have learned how to be a strong leader, and a positive role model. I have had exposure to lesson planning for children as well as how to teach the required skills while making sure the children are continuing to have fun. If you have any questions feel free to contact me at ...@gmail.com or by phone at 250-681-.... I look forward to hearing from you and your family! Quinn Sadlowski
