Nanny Job in Calgary, Alberta

I'm an
Individual
Atticus is a sweet, introverted boy who loves to sing, dance, and play. He is generally happy to amuse himself, and requires minimal supervision when in good health. The role will be to provide basic care (medicating, feeding, diapering, companionship) and occasionally transportation to school in the “nanny van.”, but primarily to engage with him in various structured activities such as walks, shaking the clapper, etc. Atticus is non-verbal but can communicate his wants and desires… he is a kind hearted unique little man that is dependent on a caregiver for most basic tasks we take for granted. Atticus has an undiagnosable rare genetic medical condition which includes metabolic seizure disorder, disabilities around motor control, and cognitive delays. Chronologically he is 12 years old; developmentally he is closer to 6-18 months old, with some aspects of awareness that fall somewhere in between. Caring for Atticus is relatively easy as he mostly plays by himself in his room, and due to his condition, rests often. Responsibilities include: metering and administering medication on a schedule meals and feeding (meals are pre-prepared) diapering and dressing light housekeeping making bed, laundering bedding sweeping up after meals Clean up (ie after meals, bum changes) occasional transportation (“nanny van” provided - 2015 Grand Caravan) Requirements: ability to lift upwards of 60 lbs comfortably valid driver’s license
