Nanny in Vaughan
My name is Angie. Im an Internationally Educated Nurse from Philippines. I have been working part-time as a home support worker for the past six months and Im also pursuing further education in the field of nursing side by side at George Brown College also part-time. As a home support worker in an organization that takes care of disabled persons, I have been regularly in all kinds of trainings. I have special skills for clients with behavioral issues, seizure management, and able to administer medications through ngt or g tube. I have an empathetic nature which helps me in managing my clients with dignity and respect at all times. My strong communication skills, ability to build rapport quickly with others, genuine compassion for people with disabilities, along with strong companionship skills have supported me in this role and proved to be very valuable. Im a drivers license holder with a clean driving record. I can accompany and drive my clients to routine hospital visits, in case of a mild emergency when ambulation is not required Im fully capable of driving the client to the hospital. I maintain a chart of diet intake, medication and sleep so if there is a change in eating or sleeping habits I immediately find out. In such a case I communicate this to the clients parents and physician. I also put in extra effort to resolve the problem like offering different types of activities to the client and providing quality companionship to avoid excessive boredom or sleep. Im good at preparing light meals, maintaining the house or living space in a neat and clean condition and even doing the laundry if required. Im mainly interested in doing overnight shifts, that would ideally be 12 am to 6 or 8 am 3 to 4 days a week. Looking forward to a long term employment. Thank you for reading.
