Hi, my name is Vanessa. I am 19 years old and in University. I previously worked at a day home where I had to take care of 10 children (ages ranging from 1-10 and older). I am very passionate about babysitting as I love being around with kids, playing with them and watch them grow and learn new things while I am around. The responsibilities of being a babysitter is challenging yet very fun for me. • I maintained the children’s health and well-being by giving them snacks and meals, • Organized a proper routine for the kids (when to eat and sleep) • Provided emotional support under any circumstances • Monitored the children to visit playgrounds or going outside • Promoted good behaviour using positive reinforcement • Playing with children such as being creative by doing crafts, reading, storytelling I may not have a lot of experience (or had lots of jobs) but working at the day home has trained and prepared me for these kind of jobs as I had to take care of lots of kids. I can also multitask very well as I had to monitor all the children at the same time, giving them a safe and positive environment. So, taking care of couple of kids would not be a problem for me. My mother used to be a caregiver, and my aunt has her own daycare, so I have had few experiences as I also had to help them quite a bit and learned from them.
