I am interested in a full time job as a caregiver this Summer and I feel I would be a good match for a position caring for children or the elderly. I am confident that my skills are well-aligned with what will be required, and that I would be an excellent fit for your family and the responsibilities that this role requires. I am excited to be seeking summer job opportunities in this field for the Calgary, Alberta area beginning May 2017 and ending in August 2017. I am a nineteen-year-old Calgarian currently enrolled at the University of British Columbia as a first year science student. As a young woman I have always enjoyed being in a position to nurture and care for others. I love playing with, teaching and entertaining children of all ages. I am kind, mature, optimistic and enthusiastic. I will be flexible and open minded when striving to meet the needs of your family and will approach each challenge with a positive and growth-minded outlook. Throughout my life I have had many employment and volunteer opportunities as listed in my resume that have helped me develop into the confident and capable worker that I am today. I have gained my CPR-C and First aid training and have used this skill set as a lifeguard and swim instructor. As a swim instructor I have worked with individuals that are between six months and twelve years old. I have acted as the sole caregiver for some classes that require one-on-one attention to a single child in a private lesson and other classes that require attention to 8-10 children all needing guidance and supervision. This experience working individually with and in large groups of kids has allowed me to gain the ability to entertain and educate children while also constantly looking out for their safety and wellbeing. In addition to this example of my experience I have also volunteered for six years as a young woman’s activity and lesson planner with my church, worked as an American Girl Child Service Representative for one year and as a children’s math tutor for one year. Other directly relevant roles that I have held in include my position as a house keeper where I was trained to clean and do laundry efficiently and effectively, which is something I enjoy doing and would be willing to do as part of my position. I have also worked in a café making food and baking treats, both of which I have had a lot of experience doing outside of the workplace as well. In addition to the roles mentioned here I have held numerous other positions both paid and volunteered that have helped me get to where I am today. Additional information to know about me is that I am also a lover of pets of all kinds and would be happy to provide pet care in addition to any child care and housekeeping help needed. I also have a driver’s license and an available vehicle which I can use to get to and from work each day which will ensure my ability to be punctual and available to your family. The ability to work hard and the values of integrity and commitment are very important to me and are reflected in my academic success as a strait-A student in both high school and university. One of my most important attributes is that I am a person of strong morals and values that I try to run my life in accordance with.
