Decisions about childcare can be some of the most important and nerve-wracking moments of your life. We are so grateful for the investment that Diedra Walker had made in our family, particularly in our daughter, for the past 3 years. If you are searching for a nanny, we highly recommend Diedra. When our daughter, Sawyer, was 5 months old, we engaged Diedra for two days a week. We quickly realized that she was not just a nanny; she was a partner with us in Sawyer’s growth and development. She helped Sawyer navigate so many significant baby-to-toddler-to-preschool transitions. From wiggling to rolling to crawling to running to climbing. From milk to solid foods. From crib to toddler bed. From babbling to talking. From diapers to potty. Diedra actively sought guidance on our goals and preferences and intentionally implemented them. We particularly appreciated her energetic approach with Sawyer. When weather was nice, she planned field trips—to museums, the zoo, art galleries, and parks. When the weather required indoor play, she would read books, engage in play that would encourage physical and cognitive development (Legos, musical toys, etc), and show her flashcards. Diedra sparked her curiosity, encouraged her energy, and nurtured her development. And our daughter developed a strong bond with her. Diedra was very intentional in her engagement with us. Every morning, she would ask if there were any special instructions for the day or if there had been any new developments with Sawyer that we should be aware of. Throughout the day, she would send us pictures of Sawyer’s adventures. At the end of the day, she would give us an update on Sawyer’s experiences, diet, sleep, and behavior. If we ever needed to hire a new nanny, Diedra would be the first person we would pursue. She is reliable, innovative, and energetic. We are more than happy to answer any questions you might have as you make these decisions.
