Nanny in Calgary, Alberta

Hi there! I am currently working part time so my hours of availability have changed. I am available all day Monday and any time before 12pm Tuesday-Friday. My name is Krystyna, I am 26 years old and have recently moved to Canada from New Zealand and after travelling your beautiful country for a year I have decided to settle in Calgary. I have a Bachelor of Teaching and Learning, majoring in Early Childhood which I completed at the University of Canterbury in 2015. Since completing my degree I have worked with children from infancy to early teens as well as children who have special needs (Autism, Diabetes, ADHD). Before moving to Canada I was the head teacher at a Kindergarten that prided itself on being the closest thing to a forest school New Zealand has, so the outdoors is where I am in my element! I also have experience working in a Reggio inspired Kindergarten where one of my main responsibilities was to create an environment that invites curiosity, cultivates wonder and imagination and enables a child's young minds to flourish which, in turn encourages them to take risks and become confident and competent learners. This is something I feel can be accomplished both in the home and in school and would love to establish in your home! Being a teacher has also taught me about the importance of having strong and positive relationships with the children and families I work with.This means I recognise and embrace the partnerships I form with children and their families and understand the importance this partnership plays in supporting and nurturing the well being, growth and learning of all children. I also have a level 2 first aid certificate which was required for me to work with children in New Zealand and is valid until February 2020. When I am not teaching you can find me travelling, in the outdoors hiking, lying on a beach with a book in my hand or cooking up a storm in the kitchen! I am currently living close to the city centre in the Southwest part of Calgary but have a vehicle and a clean drivers licence so travelling isn't too much of an issue for the right family. Throughout University I was a nanny to two amazing children and have two nephews who I regularly cared for back home so I am more than comfortable with meal prep (I'm actually a pretty good cook!) being a taxi service to all the extra curricular activities children love to do and helping out around the house with light household jobs.
