Mom and infant looking for help. Help will be in the form of a caregiver for mom, nanny for baby, and help with household tasks. Mom is a full-time wheelchair user who requires assistance with personal care, stretching, home making tasks, and some baby/infant tasks. Position is fairly evenly split between caregiver for mom and nanny for infant. The ideal candidate is an energetic self-starter with good attention to detail, someone who follows instructions well, but also someone who completes obvious tasks without being asked. Candidate must be able to lift 30-50lbs, be able to work quickly and efficiently, and be adaptable. Personal care tasks for mom mainly include: dressing, toileting, showering, hair & nail care, and stretching. Nanny tasks for infant mainly include: getting child dressed, diapering/potty training, bathing, meal preparation and feeding, following nap routines, outdoor/indoor play, daily play/learning activities (ex: constant chat with child to assist with communication, walking, stair climbing, etc…). Montessori style play and learning techniques should be understood and incorporated. Household tasks mainly include: sweeping, vacuuming, mopping floors, organizing toy areas, wiping down kitchen, taking out garbage, doing laundry, wiping down bathroom sinks and mirrors, dishes, assistance with meal planning, meal preparation, and grocery shopping. Personal care attendant training, first aid, infant CPR, experience with wheelchair lift transfers, and French speaking would be an asset. Anticipating 30-50 hours per week, with the possibility of some days having split shifts. Pay to be based on experience. Possibility of splitting position into 2 positions exists pending candidates experience and availability. Job location is in the Shaganappi/Westbrook area west of downtown. Must be eligible to work in Canada. Vulnerable sector check, minimum Level C First Aid and CPR, Negative COVID-19 test, and references required.
