Nanny in Toronto, Ontario

I'm an
Individual
Hello, my dear family! I hope to become your future Au-Pair and your new friend from Ukraine. I am sure we will become close, although we haven't met yet. So, let’s get to know each other! A little about myself: My name is Oksana and I am 30 years old. I am open and friendly, and a very flexible and communicative girl. I think these are very important character traits for anyone who is working with kids.I am also very responsible, and I love to make people happy. My relationships with kids I love my work with children, and over time, I have had a lot of friends among children of different ages. They shared with me everything in their life: about school, relations with friends, and they even asked me sometimes about love. I understood this was very serious for them and I helped them how I could, and I saw them trust me. I consider every child to have their unique character and a hidden talent they are unaware of. When I am working with them, I try to reveal that talent and help the child develop it. In the community center, we often had birthday celebrations where I was in a hippo costume, and with my clown partner we would conduct various competitions: singing, playing, dancing, etc., It’s always great to see children happy on a holiday! About my experience with kids. Though I am just 30 y.o., my experience with kids is HUGE. My first great experience with kids happened when I myself was a kid. My neighbor saw that I enjoyed playing and caring for kids and offered me a to help her as a babysitter. In all my school years, during my free time, I was a nanny for a girl called Ann. She was 8 months when I started looking after her: I fed her from bottle, sang for her songs when she was tired and so I helped her fall asleep, walked her etc. I helped her start walking, relieve her pain due to her first tooth, heard her first word. I look after her occasionally for the next 10 years, and we are still feel close to each other From 2010 to 2012 I spent my summer holidays at a community center working as a roller-skating instructor. It was amazing! I taught children of all ages to ride on roller-skates. We also played games together, and the families left their children in the complex just to play with me because they trusted me. My first full-time employment with kids happened in Israel, where I cared for my cousin’s three kids: a 1.5-year-old girl, and two boys ages 3 and 5. This was a great experience in my life, and I felt a huge difference between playing with the children a couple of hours in the kids’ complex and living with them 24 hours a day! And not only care for toddlers, but also doing household work. I learned to plan a day schedule and combine different tasks, and I managed to do everything on time. The children were always my number one priority. I was looking after the girl for half a day and then I picked up the boys from the school, and cared for them for the other half of the day: fed, washed, entertained, put to bed. I became very flexible and tolerant! When I came back from Israel to Ukraine I continued to instruct kids roller-skating, and also worked at a church looking after kids 3 to 5 years old. There we played, sang songs, drew and read books. I also worked part-time as a nanny for a girl of 3 months. In January 2014 I became a participant of the Au-Pair program and went to Denmark to take care of Eva, a 3 year old girl. I took her to and from kindergarten, cooked for and fed her, and we played together inside and outside with her friends. It was a very good year with a lot of memories for me. My next host family was also in Denmark: 2 little boys, Alexander and Simon,2 and 4 years old. For one year I cared for them, cooked for and fed them, took them to and from school and day-care. I also helped potty-train the youngest child. We played a lot, and I always picked a game they would both be interested in to keep them playing together and feel closer to each other. I also cooked for the family, as I like to cook. We always agreed on the menu. After the family dinner, I would clean, and the kids and I spent time to watch cartoons together. Then the children went to sleep. Sometimes I bought groceries for the family, and provided extra help when the family really needed it. I did this with pleasure. (I worked there from January 2015 to March 2016) Since 2017 I have been working as an au-pair in Sweden. I am helping a mom with 3 kids and doing household chores (some cooking, cleaning, laundry etc.).My duties are to look after 8 months girl and two boys of 3 years and 5 years old. I start my work in the morning to take care of the baby-girl(changing diapers, feeding, putting to bed) and after 2p.m. I also help mother with the boys, we play different games outside, when we are at home, we are drawing, building castles, lego, or simply doing crafts. My contract is going to end soon according to the program requirements. I will miss my European families, and especially the kids who I became real friends with. About my education Besides general school education I also completed a 10 year musical school, and I can play piano andsing, I really like singing (my major in musical school was Vocal-choir). So we do it with pleasure with kids. Sometimes when they are bored and start showing bad behavior, singing or dancing together can help a lot:) I have a college diploma in Management, though after finishing I realized that my true job and career path should be with kids, the job I feel to be the most satisfying. Therefore, I completed courses “How to deal with difficult and hyperactive children”, “Age psychology”, “Physical, social and emotional development of children in need”, “The rights and obligations of the participant of the au-pair program” to be prepared for the job. About my future plans. I would like to continue my career, and I would be happy to apply my great experience, multitasking skills and, most importantly, my love for kids, in Canada. I am looking for a Canadian family with kids who need help. I would like to come on a legal basis like I worked in Europe. I would be interested in a long-term contract, 2years My references are excellent, and I am sure that you will benefit from my diverse experience and knowledge. My free time The secret of my success with kids is that I enjoy my free time the way they do: I like to dance, sing, do sports, play interactive games or just have fun together. I like to find joy in every activity, and we always laugh together. My positive attitude to life helps me always see good and milder tough times. I am not a conflicting person, but if some misunderstanding ever happens – people need to talk. It helps very often. I am completely convinced this would help solve any problems should any occur.
