Nanny Job in Mississauga, Ontario

Nanny required for long term full-time position in Mississauga. She will care for 2 female children, ages 1 and 4. 4 yr old is in school weekdays 9:00am-3:30pm. 1 yr old is at home. Responsibilities with children include: driving children to/from school, caring for the youngest all day and the oldest before/after school, playing actively, reading, taking the children to outdoor/indoor activities, nurturing positive behaviour/ethics. Other duties include: housekeeping, laundry, errands, children’s meals, dinner preparation. Required to have: age-appropriate caring and/or teaching experience, valid CPR/first aid certificates and/or equivalent medical training, valid driver’s license, excellent driving record, proficiency in English, great references, criminal reference check. Candidate with diploma and/or degree in ECE or some equivalent educational training would be great. French/music assets. Ideal candidate a caregiver and/or teacher able to help the children excel intellectually, socially, physically, emotionally. Should have a passion for life, learning and encouraging a positive ‘can do’ attitude in children. Should have excellent communication skills, a great work ethic and ability to execute directions/make decisions. Bright, confident, energetic, fun, caring, compassionate, giving, patient and tolerant. A sense of humour would be a plus! Typical hours are 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. The location is a home on a beautiful treed lot in Port Credit. It is a 5-10 minute walk from the Port Credit GO Station and accessible by other means of public transportation. It is a 10-15 minute walk to waterfront parks and trails, the quaint Port Credit village on the Lake, the Port Credit library, the Port Credit arena and Ontario Early Year Centres and programs.
