Nice to meet you! My name is Chloe, I am 19 years old, and I am a second year political science student at the University of Guelph. Growing up as the eldest of three children has given me experiences with childcare from a very young age. I began babysitting for my Dad's coworkers when I was 12, and I have been passionate about childcare and fostering growth in children ever since. I am certified in First Aid, and I have experience with caring for children of all ages. As well as supervising children at home, I have volunteered as a camp councillor on many occasions. I was President of my high school's Leadership Council, and oversaw the organization of an annual 4-day leadership growth and development camp for students. I especially enjoy activities that involve leadership and community involvement, as I have won the Whitby Youth Award for my involvement in the community. I had many opportunities to work with children throughout my high school career, including my work as an educational assistant for students in grade 2 at my Co-Op placement, a public school in my area. At this placement I was expected to help the teacher that I was assigned to with any teaching duties, including individual tutoring with students that were falling behind in reading and writing. Through the use of educational games, reading practice, consistent goal-setting and lots of encouragement, the students began to make incredible progress. This experience is just one of many that has inspired me to continue working with children, and I look forward to the opportunity to provide extra help to students that are struggling in school. As I understand you may be overwhelmed with cleaning as well as caring for your kiddos, I am more than happy to assist with any housework you would like to get out of the way. My personal hobbies when I have a break from schoolwork are reading, songwriting, playing music, baking, and any kind of outdoor activity. I enjoy leading activities for children that are educational, engaging and fun.
