Nanny in Vancouver

My name is Zee Kesler and I am passionate about hands on learning. In 1999, I began my formal experience working with children through my high school Cooperative Education program. Since then, I have continued my work with children and education as an SEA homeschool teacher and Nanny. In my spare time, I have been growing my business the Magic Trout Imaginarium where I create curriculum and teach professional development workshops for teachers and librarians. Locally, I have been a key player in the Maker Education community as an event and program coordinator for meet-ups as well as local and province wide initiatives. As a passionate advocate for children and education, I would love to bring my experience, energetic spirit and passion for working with children to your family. As the oldest of 4 sisters, so I guess you could say I have been teaching since I was born. In a more formal setting, however, I began my experience working with children as an Artist in the Classroom. For this role I taught 6 classes of 22 children lessons based on the book The Great Kapok Tree. It was through this experience that I discovered my passion for teaching children; it excited me to teach even the simplest life tasks through fun, creative approaches. In my work as a nanny and homeschool teacher I have worked with kids create everything from crafts, to comics, to carpentry to electronics. In my work as a curriculum developer, I have used these ideas as prototypes to co-create the ITA Maker Club Manual, a step by step instructional manual and teachers guide to maker culture through simple projects that introduce students to introductory trades skills. This school year I am looking for a flexible position as I am required to travel 1-2 times per month to teach province wide professional development trainings. What interests me about a position as a Nanny is not only my personal passion for teaching, learning and building relationships with families in the community, but also my personal interest in storytelling, sharing and learning in an out of school environment. So, thank you for considering me as a candidate in this position. I look forward to speaking with you further! After school activity leader, pre school assistant, parent and tot sing along leader, arts/literacy/fitness instructor, nanny, household manager, artist in residence, curriculum developer, professional development for teachers on "maker" education
