Nanny in Saskatoon

My name is Erin and I come from a family of 6. Although we are a close and loving family, I definitely have the experience of dealing with the occasional chaos that comes with being part of a larger family. I have an extreme passion for shaping the lives of children. I feel that this job would allow me to fulfill this passion, as well as give me the experience I need to eventually obtain a career in the teaching field. I am a very happy, caring and trustworthy person and I am confident that I am a good choice for this position. I look forward to hearing from you! As a requirement to get into Education at the University of Saskatchewan I enjoyed volunteering at a daycare as well as for Girl Guides. At the daycare I cared for children ages 1 to 8 year olds. My duties included entertaining the children, feeding the children, changing diapers etc. While volunteering for Girl Guides I supervised brownie girls ages 7-8 years old. Duties included helping the girls with their crafts and activities and making sure everyone was happy and looked after. Last year I received summer employment with the YMCA Child Development Centre. I cared for children 18 months to 5 years old. My duties included organizing activities that followed the Playing to Learn curriculum, planning and preparing lunches and snacks, and helping to maintain a clean and orderly environment. During my time with YMCA Child Development Centre I had the opportunity to try a new approach to teaching and observe how a less structured environment with more freedom to explore and play really improved childrens creativity and motor skills. I have recently completed my B. Ed at the University of Saskatchewan. I had the privilege of completing my student teaching in the grade 5 classroom, and internship in the grade 1/2 split classroom at Prince Philip School. During my time at Prince Philip School I planned and presented many lessons as well as actively participated as a leader for junior choir. Through my student teaching and internship experience I learned to adapt quickly to new and unexpected situations, and I improved my organization and time management skills. I believe that it was a very beneficial and eye opening experience that tested my patience and tolerance, and really prepared me for the rewarding challenge of being a teacher.
