Nanny in Terrace
My name is Alyssa. I\'m an eighteen year old girl just graduating from highschool. I took a year off last year to go to Culinary School, and am now completing my highschooling over Correspondence. I am planning on going back to College in September, here in town. I am capable of working full time over the summer until I go to school, when I will have to center my hours around my classes. I have not received a schedule yet, and thus an unable to confirm when those classes will be. I have spent the last four years watching my nieces (and now nephew) grow up. I was fourteen when my first niece was born, and she was one week old when I first met her. They lived an hour and a half away, and unfortunately I did not get to see her as much I\'d like. She was born in November, and I spent the next summer babysitting her while I wasn\'t working with my father on his fishing boat in the same town she lived in. A year and a half after the first one, my second niece came along. She was two months old when I started looking after her (again, when not working with my father on his boat.) It was during that time that I learned to prepare formula, heat a bottle properly, and feed a baby that young properly. I also learned how to change a diaper and watch a baby when no one else was home. When my second niece was just over a year old, they moved to my hometown where I was living. I spent as much time as I could with them, around school and then college. I have babysat overnight multiple times, and have spent many hours teaching my nieces how to talk, and count, and have simply spent time with them where their parents weren\'t available. Two months ago my nephew was born, and now I have experienced looking after a child from day one. I see my nephew on a nearly daily basis, and have watched him from the day he came from the hospital room. It has been scary, seeing him experience jaundice, watching him lose two pounds in the first week he was alive, and other various new-born things that I wasn\'t there for my nieces. All the while trying to keep his older sisters from knowing that anything was wrong. I like kids. I like working with kids, talking with them, watching them grow up into their own personalities. I\'m excited to watch it continue with my nieces and nephew, and they are what convinced me that I want to look after children as a career while going to school, and possibly afterwards. I\'m young, but I\'m responsible. I\'m willing to follow any rules that the parents set, of course. I also have my first aid (level one) and food safe (level one.) I know how to cook, and prepare child friendly meals. I\'m willing to work full time, including on weekends and evenings. I don\'t know what else to say. Hi! I have been babysitting for my sister in law for almost five years now. I first started at fourteen years of age, looking after my niece over the summer. She was around six months old. I then started looking after two girls, ages two and four, for about a year, though it wasn't on a regular basis. I spent the summer when I was fifteen looking after my second niece, who was around four months old, while staying with my sister in law and brother off and on. I now babysit their three children (3, 4, and 2 months) regularly.
