Nanny in Abercorn, Quebec

Dear host family, My name is Mireina and I am Mexican-American. After 14 months living abroad I’m finally back to my home country, which means I'm currently living/staying in Mexico since October ‘17, I lived 11 months in Germany as an au pair of a 12 years old disabled girl, she had Dystonia,a disorder in her nervous system which means she cannot speak or control her body movements, but that wasn't a limitation for us to laugh, play, interact and talk to each other, we built our own body signs and sight language and had a very close and beautiful relationship, it was one of my best life experiences, I've really enjoyed it and had so much fun! I chose to work with her because I love working, helping or just being around disabled people, it makes me really happy to be of help and specially to them, but sadly my contract with the host family ended in June 2017; so in July ‘17 I moved to China and spent 3 months there as an au pair of a 5-year old Chinese boy, I used to teach him Spanish and English, he was a very clever and playful kid. China was an amazing experience with the host family and the little boy. On the other hand, I consider myself as and easy-going person, hardworking, and very dedicated to everything I do, I am polite, creative, and humorous. By the way, I´m also really punctual and responsible, I think one of my best characteristics is my tolerance and patience, both qualities are primordial when working with kids and as a teacher. (You could have a reference letter from both host families) I´m the youngest of a 5 members family, my oldest sister has a 5 year-old lovely daughter and a 9 months old baby gilr, I used to take care of the oldest one since she was born because her parents had to work some weekends, and even some weekdays in the evenings. I really enjoy being around kids since I was younger, I remember I wanted to be a kindergarden teacher; I love their innocence and the way they perceive life in so easy way and their "ability" to "solve" everything so fast and easy, so this will not be just a job to me as I love kids, and genuinely enjoy spending time with them, I also used to work in an elementary school in San Diego, CA. in 2011 I worked in the after school program, which is a program that takes care of children by playing with them, feeding them and helping them to do their homework. I have also worked as a babysitter at night on the weekends, taking care of my friends's children, while they were out partying. I would like to be a nanny or an au pair for the third time because I love traveling and the fact of getting to know new countries and learning about its culture, traditions and people. As I mentioned it earlier, I´ve been an au pair twice already in two completely different countries and cultures, I´ve loved it and enjoyed it so much that I would like to work as an au pair/nanny again but in Canada for the third and last time, because I would love to visit Canada and experience its culture, plus I would really like to polish my english skills and if you´re interested share my beautiful culture and teach my native language (spanish). I was born in the states but raised in mexico, so as you can already imagine english is my second language. I have a degree in education and used to work as a private english teacher in Mexico with children and persons of different ages. In my free time I love traveling, exercising, and to write articles in Spanish for a few Colombian blogs that I'm part of, to read and to spend some quality time with my family and friends. After being an Au pair, I am planning to do a masters degree in Special education in USA or Germany (still not sure), I really feel so much passion in this area.
