I'm an
Individual
With my education and training in the Elementary Education Program, I have acquired and developed many suitable skills for working with children and supporting them in an enriching educational setting. Within the University Elementary Education Program, I have had much experience with establishing rapport with my students, as well as creating a comfortable, organized, and rewarding learning environment. I have spent much time observing and interacting with students of all ages, and have also had the opportunity to successfully complete three teaching practicums. My first teaching practicum was as West Bay International Baccalaureate Primary Years Elementary in West Vancouver. Here I taught in a grade 2 classroom for three weeks. For my second practicum I was placed at St. Patrick\\\'s Elementary School in Victoria, teaching a grade 6 class, with a middle school setup, for a period of 6 weeks. My final education practicum was completed at Mckenzie Elementary School in Victoria. I had full responsibility for teaching a grade 3 class for 8 weeks. During my final practicum I had the opportunity to further enhance my knowledge and improve my skills in child instruction and care. I developed excellent relationships with all my students, my two mentor teachers, my University supervisor, and the school staff. I was particularly commended on my planning capabilities, the execution of my lessons, my organizational skills, and my teaching presence. In my final education practicum I was responsible for teaching 22 students (11 boys, 11 girls) for 8 weeks. The class was composed of the following; 30 designated English as a Second Language (ESL); 1 student designated as Learning Disabled (LD); 2 children awaiting psychometric testing; 5 boys have been a part of a \\\'social skills\\\' group; 3 children saw the school counselor (2 of whom receive outside counseling support as well); 2 students diagnosed ADHD and were on medication; 1 student with severe diabetes who had a 24 hr insulin pump; and 6 students receiving Learning Assistance support. Along with having opportunities to teach in the Elementary Education Program, I have also taught baby ballet at Arabesque Dance Studio. For this I was co-responsible for a class of students, and assisted in preparing and orchestrating choreographed ballet recitals. I am creative and artistic and an additional focus of mine is in the area of multi media art. I also have two younger brothers, one of which is 9 year younger than myself, and I have plenty of babysitting experience from my teen years. My name is Natalia and I am 23 years of age and I have recently completed my bachelors degree in Elementary Education at the University of Victoria. I truly love working with children, my chosen profession, and am a very friendly, enthusiastic, organized, compassionate, and hard working person. I take pride in everything that I do, and recognize that working with children comes with great responsibility but also great reward. My experience working with children has only confirmed my passion and I would love the opportunity to take on a nanny job. I would be a great nanny for I have had much experience in teaching and caring for children, and I will bring my passion and love for children and education into everything that I am responsible for.
