With a degree in psychology, I have learned about the different stages of development of children. I am very interested in observing how children learn and interpret things. By learning about these techniques, I have become very interested in pursuing a career with children. In the fall I will be starting practical nursing at Algonquin College with future aspirations of becoming a nurse specialized in paediatrics. I think it is very important especially with children to have a person who is passionate and loves what they do. truly enjoy being around children and helping them grow anyway that I can. Furthermore, I have endless patience when it comes to children and I am willing to take the time to help a child understand their wrongdoings and praise them when they have done something good. I have worked with children as young as 8 months. I babysat siblings (starting at the age of 8 months and 3 years, now 7 and 11). I have also watched a child (now 3). My duties included coming up with activities for the children to do, cooking light meals, putting the children to sleep, assisting with homework and other tasks that the parents have asked me to help with. I am very interested in introducing children to new information and educating them to the best of my ability. I believe it is very important to introduce children to new things (whether it be new books or games).
