Nanny in Westlock, Alberta

I am a second year elementary teacher looking for a job that will keep me busy over the summer months. I am looking for full or part time employment for the 2019 summer with hopes of saving to go teach in Australia! I have always had a passion for working with children. I took a year off before attending University to work as a Education Assistant in an early intervention pre-school program. Since I have received my degree in education and have spent two years teaching kindergarten! I have worked for three families a nanny. The first family I lived with for one summer looking after three boys and completing farm and house work. I now consider them family! While in University I worked for two families in Edmonton providing after school care, cleaning and meal preparation. Along with this experience I also have spent five years working as a Lifeguard/ SwimmingInstructor and have volunteered with pre-can, can skate and jump- start skating lessons and Westlock's I LOVE HOCKEY Days. Through teaching and coaching I have worked with infants all the way to young adults. Though Toddler and preschool aged youth are the area with most experience, I really have enjoyed working with older youth as well and have come to further respect their individual opinions and the growing sense of identity they gain at this age. As a result of previous work positions I have taken The Babysitting Course, Standard First aid/CPR-C, WHMIS, TDG and have taken a driving course that taught and reviewed different strategies for reacting to emergencies. Due to my career I also have a current criminal record check completed. I feel I am very good at balancing life and work and feel I am an excellent candidate to provide summer care.
