Futurekids Daycare Centre, located at 600 Fairview Street, has been serving the Burnaby, Coquitlam and New Westminster communities for over 20 years. We are looking for a responsible adult or a nanny who has experience working with 6-12 year olds to work in our Out-of-School Program. The person will have to… - Plan and carry out developmentally appropriate activities/experiences in harmony with the centre's philosophy. - Provide a balance of active/quiet, indoor/outdoor and individual/group activities. - Assist children in expressing themselves by listening and responding with questions or comments. - Use a variety of teaching techniques including modeling, observing, questioning, demonstrating and reinforcing. - Provide experiences and play that actively promote diversity and acceptance in interactions and attitudes. - Follow behavior guidance and policies established by the centre and consistent with accepted practice in the field. - Attend regular staff meetings and keep up-to-date in early childhood advocacy developments. - Maintain confidentiality of all information related to the centre's children, their parents and staff. - Follow licensing requirements and carry out responsibilities assigned to you. - Organize space, equipment and materials before activities. - Report all accidents, injuries, and illnesses to the manager or delegate and record such incidents in the daily log. - Contribute to the annual plan for the centre and participate in the annual performance review. - Release children only to authorized persons Qualifications: Responsible Adult/Nanny Valid Criminal Record Check. First Aid Certification required or in the process of obtaining one. Up-to-Date Immunizations/TB Screen and Doctor's Note of good physical health. Excellent interpersonal skills with parents, staff and community members. Mature and responsible adult with appropriate attitude towards work. Willingness to work flexible hours.
