Nanny Job in Halifax, Nova Scotia

We are a professional couple looking for a caring, fun-loving, responsible, and experienced nanny / housekeeper (live-out) to care for our four children - a smart and funny 11-year-old girl, twin 9-year-old girls who love music and art, and a sports-obsessed 6-year-old boy, in Fall River, Nova Scotia. You are a childcare provider with at least three years experience in nannying, or child care work for multiple children. You must love children (and animals - we have a Havanese dog and two guinea pigs!) and be mature, reliable, trustworthy, organized, and punctual. You will be required to work Monday to Thursday from noon to 6 p.m. Some flexibility is required (earlier start) on PD days, school cancellations, and in rare cases Fridays. Our children will be at school during the day, arriving home at 2:30 p.m. We are a non-smoking household and you must be a non-smoker. Your responsibilities will include: · Playing with the children, and coordinating fun and educational indoor and outdoor daily activities · Supporting the children with their homework · Preparing healthy family meals and snacks · Doing the children's laundry, and all linens (bedding and towels) · Running errands (e.g. grocery shopping) · Driving the children to and from after school activities · Cleaning and general housekeeping while the children are in school. You will need a current First Aid certificate, proof of Criminal Record check and Child Abuse Register check, a current driver’s licence and driving record check, and your own well maintained vehicle (A mileage allowance will be given). You must also know how to swim and be comfortable and skilled to supervise the children in the pool. A Certificate in Child Care, or equivalent, will also be highly regarded. Salary: $15/hour. Pay will be bi-weekly; taxes, EI and CPP (and employer EI and CPP contributions) will be held and submitted by employer. Holidays: The following paid holidays will be provided: New Years Day, Family Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Natal Day, Labour Day, Thanksgiving Day, Remembrance Day, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day. Vacation: 2 weeks paid vacation, preferably to be taken at a time when the family is also on vacation. Sick Days: 5 paid sick days per year ($50 per unused sick day will be provided in the form of a bonus at the end of the year).
