Nanny in Ottawa, Ontario

Hello! My name is Emma and I would be a great Nanny for your child, and your family! I am a fourth year Bachelor of Social Work student at Carleton University and have a strong interest in working with children of all ages! My passion for working with children has driven me to get as much experience in the field as possible! From a young, elementary school student, I began gathering experience through a variety babysitting jobs. These jobs included full time summer care where I created activities for the children to do in the nice weather, as well as before and after school child care for 3 young boys, one of which had mild-severe autism. Along with providing child care, I also partnered with the family and the community to help organize a garage sale to raise money for a service dog! My passion continued into my high school years where I worked as a children's birthday party hostess at PuttHutt, and at my co-op as an in-school mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters. My passion was further confirmed in Carleton University's Social Work program where I enjoyed a variety of sociology, social work, psychology, and child studies courses. Today, I continue to volunteer for Family Services Ottawa (FSO)'s FRIENDS For Life program, which is a group for children experiencing anxiety, as well as FSO's Supervised Access Program where I work closely with families in crisis to ensure the safety of the children. My background also includes youth outreach work and group facilitation.
