Nanny Job in Halifax, Nova Scotia

My name is Vanessa - we are a family of three with a (precocious!) 3.5 year daughter. We're looking for a part-time live-out summer nanny, beginning June 15 and continuing until September 4. We're looking for coverage 4 days per week, from 7:30am until approximately 5:00-5:30pm with a floating weekday off depending on my call-schedule. No weekends or evenings required, but there is the potential for extra evening work on occasion if you're interested. Duties would be focused on childcare, including meals and stimulating play - outdoor play, arts & crafts, reading, free-play/creative time, with mutually agreed upon outings on occasion. In addition, we have a dog who will need basic care (but will take as much love as you are willing to offer!), and we would also expect light housework (primarily cleaning/tidying of the areas you use during the day, with occasionally a bit more than this), light meal prep (getting supper started as needed) and potential occasional errands (we would generally limit this, however). Experience: Experience providing full day care to a pre-schooler is required. Also require basic first aid/CPR and valid driver's license, criminal record check and vulnerable sector screen. Vehicle access is preferable. ECE training is very desirable but not a firm requirement. We would like three references, two of which must be from previous clients/families you've provided care for, and the third can be a character reference. For our ideal candidate, punctuality and reliability are essential. We are looking for someone who is positive, enthusiastic, energetic and creative. We would like you to be able to give our daughter appropriate independence and be able to set and enforce limits while being loving, respectful and calm. We ask that you have an openness/respect toward our family's faith, though there is no expectation that you share our faith background.
